Forest Hill police have arrested Adonis Robinson, a 24-year-old from Fort Worth, in connection with the tragic shooting death of rapper Ronnie Sibley and his 5-year-old daughter, R’mani Sibley.
The arrest took place in Livingston, Texas, approximately 75 miles from Houston. Along with Robinson, 21-year-old Jakobe Russell is also wanted as one of the gunmen involved in the incident that occurred at Slappy’s Car Wash in Forest Hill.
While investigators confirmed Robinson’s arrest with assistance from the Texas Rangers, they continue their search for Russell and have not disclosed a motive or the suspects’ connection to Ronnie.
Family members indicated that Ronnie, known as G$ Lil Ronnie, was in Forest Hill to see his daughter just moments before the shooting. The Dallas Express reported that the shooting took place in broad daylight as G$ Lil Ronnie ran across the parking lot, pursued by the two armed suspects. His daughter, R’mani, was shot while she was seated inside a maroon Dodge Challenger, having just been dropped off by her mother shortly before the incident.
Police believe the attack was targeted but have not released details on the motive or any connections between the individuals involved. Robinson has a history of violent crime and is a registered sex offender.
Ronnie leaves behind not only R’mani but also a 12-year-old daughter.
