Ever on the lookout for the next tantalizing treat to tickle the taste buds, Blue Bell Creameries has turned to a time-honored classic dessert combo as inspiration for its latest ice cream flavor.
“We know our fans still crave the frozen snack bars on a stick that featured banana and chocolate,” Sara Schramm, Blue Bell marketing brand manager, said in a press release. ““We have received requests over the years to return these products to our lineup. We thought, why not shake things up and bring this delicious combination back as an ice cream?”
The new ice cream offering, Banana Fudge, is Blue Bell’s classic milk chocolate ice cream swirled with a banana-flavored ice cream.
“Our new Banana Fudge Ice Cream combines two flavors that complement each other so well,” Schramm said. “Chocolate and banana ice creams are popular treats all on their own. But swirl these two in one carton, and you have an incredibly smooth and delicious dessert.”
The new flavor is now available in grocery stores for a limited time in half-gallon and pint sizes.
Bluebell, a home-grown Texas favorite headquartered in Brenham, is known for its creative ice cream flavors, offering more than 40 varieties. Recently, the company introduced its Strawberry Toaster Pastry ice cream, featuring “creamy vanilla ice cream loaded with strawberry pastry pieces, colorful confetti sprinkles, and swirls of strawberry sauce and white icing.”
Other Bue Bell flavors that have debuted with a splash include the Dr Pepper Float, Monster Cookie Dough, Java Jolt, Chocolate Brownie Truffle, Cookies ‘N Cream Cheesecake, and Gooey Butter Cake.
