Three North Texas establishments have been ranked among the best restaurants in the state, according to a new list from Texas Monthly.

Mābo in Dallas, Radici Wood Fired Grill in Farmers Branch, and The Chumley House in Fort Worth secured a spot on the list of the 10 best restaurants in the Lone Star State.

“In Dallas, we settled into a long, narrow dining room that looked as if it had been uncoupled from the Orient Express. In Fort Worth, we were sure that characters in The Crown would have felt right at home in a convincing replica of a posh London townhouse,” read the report.

Radici Wood Fired Grill was the highest-ranked establishment from North Texas, securing the No. 2 spot on the list. The Farmer’s Branch restaurant is co-owned by celebrity chef Tiffany Derry, whose other local spot, Roots Southern Table, made Southern Living’s list of “The South’s Best New Restaurants of 2023.”

Coming in one spot behind Radici is Mābo at No. 3. Mābo earned the distinction of making Esquire’s ranking of the Best New Restaurants in America last year, the only Dallas institution to make the cut.

Located in Preston Center, Mābo serves Asian cuisine prepared by chef Masayuki Otaka. Otaka was formerly the owner and chef of Teppo, a long-running Greenville Avenue sushi restaurant that shuttered in 2022.

At No. 9 in the state is The Chumley House in Fort Worth. The restaurant “fulfills the fantasy of traipsing through the home of a mid-century British aristocrat,” according to Texas Monthly.

While diners have a diverse menu to choose from, the Cowtown spot is known for its “dazzling beef Wellington clad in picture-perfect pastry.”

As for the number one spot in the state, that went to Craft Omakase in Austin. The contemporary sushi restaurant was highlighted for earning its first Michelin star in November, less than a year after opening.
