A car crashed into a train just south of Mockingbird Lane early Friday morning, leaving one man dead and adding to a deadly week on Dallas’ roads.

The latest incident occurred on Cedar Spring Road by Dallas Love Field just before 4 a.m. on July 7. The unidentified driver of a red four-door sedan reportedly collided with a parked train car, per NBC 5 DFW.

Police said the front of the car was heavily damaged, but there is no clear distinction on how fast the driver was traveling at the time of the crash, according to NewsRadio 1080 KRLD. First responders arrived and attempted to perform CPR. However, the driver of the car ended up dying at the scene of the crash. He was reportedly the only person in the car, and there were no other injuries related to the incident.

Authorities claimed the man did not see the train, which was stopped on the tracks, as he attempted to cross, reported Fox 4 News. The area near the tracks has multiple signs indicating the upcoming railroad crossing, but no crossing arms or active lights exist.

A flashing light was recently installed to indicate the presence of a railroad, but it is not yet active.

Car accidents are not uncommon within Dallas proper, especially in the last week.

A man and his infant child died early on Saturday morning while driving near the 6400 block of Grand Avenue, as previously reported by The Dallas Express. The man’s 22-year-old long-term girlfriend survived the crash.

Two others died over the weekend after being hit by cars while walking, according to reports by The Dallas Express.

The first incident occurred just after midnight on July 2 near the 3300 block of Great Trinity Forest Way. A man was struck by a car while walking across the street. He was taken to the hospital and later died due to his injuries. The second death occurred about two hours later in the 2700 block of South Buckner Boulevard near Hume Drive.
