Every citizen who cherishes American sovereignty, law and order, and preserving our nation must join the call for accountability at our southern border. The dangerous and reckless decisions of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas demand our condemnation and decisive action. He has flagrantly violated our laws, abused his office’s power, and lied to the American public.

Mayorkas has ignored our immigration laws by instructing officials to mass-parole illegal immigrants into the country. He is ignoring the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), which explicitly states parole should be granted temporarily and only on a case-by-case basis. Instead, he has thrown open our doors to millions of individuals, including criminals, with no legitimate claim to be here.

He has exponentially incentivized asylum fraud, encouraging false asylum claims to be made in droves. This is nothing short of a gross violation of his duty to the American people, allowing our asylum system – a lifeline for genuinely persecuted individuals – to be exploited and cheapened. Despite overwhelming evidence that around 90% of those claiming asylum are not eligible, Mayorkas continues to give the green light to illegitimate claims, mocking the notion of American justice.

The damage from Mayorkas’s abuse of power will take years to undo. His policies have lured millions to risk their lives crossing the border illegally, often under the ruthless control of drug cartels. To add insult to injury, he has authorized the use of our hard-earned taxpayer dollars to transport illegal immigrants throughout the country, aiding and abetting criminal cartels in the process. This is done via nongovernmental organizations like Catholic Charities, among others, who have received over $1 billion of taxpayer funds for their organizations.

Despite the glaring reality of our border crisis, Mayorkas dared to claim to Congress that the “border is secure.” This lie is even more egregious considering the more than 5.5 million encounters and an estimated 1.2 million “got-aways” documented by Customs and Border Protection since Biden took office. Such blatant dishonesty is a slap in the face of every law- abiding American.

During this week’s House Judiciary hearing, Mayorkas refused to answer direct questions from Congress. He ignored Congressman Matt Gaetz’s request to answer how many illegal aliens had been deported during his time as Secretary and would not answer my questions on how federal funds are being routed to NGOs to subsidize illegal immigration.

Our nation is at a critical juncture. Mayorkas’s reckless decisions have fueled a historic border crisis that endangers our entire nation. His actions are not just wrong; they are a violation of our Constitution and a betrayal of our republic.

If we let Mayorkas get away with this, we set a perilous precedent for the future of our nation. Americans can no longer tolerate such flagrant disrespect for our laws, our security, and our people. Congress must do its duty and impeach Alejandro Mayorkas.
