The Texas Rangers and Frisco RoughRiders took the field Tuesday night, while the Dallas Wings continued their hot start to the WNBA season.

The Rangers won their second of a three-game set in Detroit as Texas scored double-digit runs for the second time in five games. Nathaniel Lowe’s RBI single broke a 4-4 tie in the fifth, and he and Adolis Garcia scored on a Jonah Heim single later in the inning. Josh Jung’s 12th home run of the season to extend the lead in the seventh, and the bullpen held the Tigers to just one hit in four and one-third innings.
Noteworthy: The Rangers lead the AL West by three games. Their 35-19 record marks the best 54-game start in franchise history.
— Martin Perez allowed six runs in less than five innings, but rookie Grant Anderson picked up the slack in his MLB debut. Anderson struck out seven of the nine batters he faced to earn his first career win.
— Marcus Semien extended his hitting streak to a career-best 19 games. He ties Ian Kinsler for the second-longest hitting streak in Rangers history and is seven games away from Kinsler’s all-time franchise mark.

Frisco RoughRiders (20-25, fourth in Texas League South Division, tied seventh in AA Texas League)
Last Game: San Antonio Missions 9, RoughRiders 2
Frisco managed just four hits as San Antonio took the first game of the series. Ray-Patrick Didder’s second-inning double broke a 1-1 tie, and the Missions never surrendered the lead while the RoughRiders’ offense continued to struggle. Frisco did not score another run until the eighth inning when a Dustin Harris double made it an 8-2 ballgame.
Noteworthy: The RoughRiders entered the game with the third-best offense in the Texas League but were hitting just .227 in their previous nine games.
— Frisco is 4-3 against San Antonio this season and 4-5 in series openers.
— Jack Leiter takes the mound as the series continues Wednesday.

Dallas Wings (3-1, second in Western Conference)
Last Game: Wings 94, Minnesota Lynx 89
The Wings improved to 3-1 behind Natasha Howard’s 25-point performance. Dallas started poorly, trailing by as many as 13 in the first quarter, but outscored the Lynx 27-15 in the second quarter and pulled in front on an Arike Ogunbowale layup just before halftime. Minnesota cut the lead to three with just 10 seconds remaining in the game, but Ogunbowale knocked down two free throws to seal the win.
Noteworthy: Howard scored 20 points in the first half, including a career-high 16 in the second quarter. She was one of three Wings players to score at least 20 points on Tuesday.
— Dallas is now 2-0 at home this season.
— Kalani Brown scored 12 points after signing with the Wings under the emergency salary cap hardship provision Tuesday morning.
