A Fort Worth tennis coach was arrested last week for allegedly sexually assaulting a child.
George A. Dennis II, 43, was arrested on July 20 by the Crime Against Children Unit (CACU) on a warrant for sexual assault, according to a statement released Wednesday by the Fort Worth Police Department.
“Investigators are requesting that any member of the public that may have information about Dennis or other possible incidents involving him please contact Detective Pellerin with CACU at 682-382-1521,” the press release stated.
Bradley Perez of the Fort Worth Police Department told The Dallas Express that “the investigation is still ongoing, and due to the fact that a juvenile was involved, the information provided in the press release is the only information we are authorized to release at this time.”
Dennis is listed as the director of tennis at the big G tennis group from 2013 to the present, according to his company’s website. Prior to that, Dennis worked as an instructor at the NRG Tennis Academy in Grapevine from 2011 to 2013 and at the NRG Tennis Academy in Southlake from 2008 to 2011.
Meanwhile, in Dallas, violent crime, which includes sexual assaults, continues to pose a threat to residents. According to the latest crime briefing from the Dallas Police Department, dated July 26, 2023, non-family murders are up 12.2%Â year to date compared to last year at this time.
DPD has struggled in recent years to maintain an adequate number of police officers in the department. According to an analysis of the City’s needs, the DPD should have about three officers per 1,000 residents or about 4,000 sworn officers. However, the department is nearly 900Â short of that recommended number.
Crime is rampant in the Downtown Dallas area, particularly in comparison to the downtown area of neighboring Fort Worth, where the city center is patrolled by dedicated police units along with private security guards.
